ASU mobility: Call for Applications (11)
Position is already filled!
Closing date: 30.4.2022
Contact: Richard Wünsch
The Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences invites applications for a 4-month collaborative stay of a junior researcher in the Physics of Galaxies Group at the Prague section of the Institute. The stay will be funded through a working agreement in the framework of the project “Support of international collaboration in astronomy”, which is provided by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The monthly salary will be approximately 2500 Eur and it includes health insurance. The commencement is expected in the beginning of June 2022.
The collaboration will be on the topic of "Formation of interstellar dust in supernovae" focusing on a development of a numerical model. This model will be connected to models of the formation of massive star clusters studied at the Astronomical Institute of the ASCR. This will allow on one hand more accurate description of the evolution of the gas out of which the star clusters form, on the other hand, it will help to compare the model predictions with observations obtained with ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter and submillimeter Array), LMT (Large Millimiter Array), ESO telescopes, and other instruments. A successful applicant will collaborate mainly with R. Wünsch, J. Palouš and S. Ehlerová.
Applications containing a Cover Letter, describing shortly the research plan for the collaborative stay, a Curriculum Vitae, and a List of Publications in the research area defined above should be submitted in a single pdf.
